Bauxite is one of the important mineral resources in Yunnan Province, thedistribution of bauxite in Yunnan province concentrated on southeastern Yunnan andsurrounding areas of Kunming. This paper systematically collect and detailedlyanalysis the results of geological data, scientific research and literature explorationinformation of typical bauxite in Southeast Yunnan. Using the latest survey results andnew understanding of the mineral exploration theory, filed work that focusing on theinvestigation of distribution of deposits and its tectonic setting, metallogenicregularity are carried out. Discussing about different types of bauxite, bauxite indifferent areas is helpful in ore exploration.Based on the geological characteristics of the regional metallogenic theory, thegeological survey and the indoor sample test, this dissertation discuss the ore depositgeochemistry and X-ray diffraction analysis, mine remote sensing informationextraction and interpretation of the bauxite deposit, but for the space limitations, thispaper just focuses on source of minerals, metallogenic regularity and ore controlregularity of bauxite in southeastern Yunnan. Understanding and metallogenicregularity are as follows:1) Conform that the bauxite in southeastern Yunnan is controlled by theunderlying strata, paleogeography, depositional environments and sedimentary facies, whereas the accumulation-type deposits not only closely related to moderntopography but also linked to sedimentary deposits, provide the basis information forprospecting.2) Geochemical characteristics of the bauxite indicate that source of minerals isderived mainly from the underlying strata, so, if the underlying strata is different, themines above it is different. The Tianshengqiao-Wushe bauxite deposit in UpperPermian Longtan formation that composed of clastic rocks, the main components ofthe the clastic rocks are Fe-Al rock debris and bauxite. The ore body was bedded, lenticularly output and broadly extend, the scale of the ore body is big; the mineralsource of Shazitang-Banmao bauxite mainly comes from aluminum-containinglimestone, and may be partially from the basalt.3) Mine geochemical characteristics demonstrate that most of the samples of thealuminum-containing rock contains dispersed elements gallium (Ga), the total contentis higher than the lowest industrial grade of gallium (0.002%); part of bauxite samplesget high rare earth content, and its total∑REE>1000×10-6,, in individual sample,∑REE>5000×10-6,, reached the rare earth mine industrial index, inferring that bauxitein Southeast Yunnan may be associated with rare earth minerals. 4) Ore control structure research indicate that: metallogenic factors in study areamainly affected by faults, folds, ancient geography, underlying strata, regional angleunconformity surface and ancient karst, and so established prospecting signs.
