The vast plain in the south-western coast of Bohai which is located in theLow-lying coastal area, was inundated by Transgressive events in the HoloceneMegathermal, and a lot of evidence about the ancient landscape, ancient depositionwas left. Taking the South-western coast of Bohai,and based on the uncertainty andcontroversy of the boundary of maximum transgression, transgression location isdetermined by ground-penetrating radar with drilling stratigraphic data to track theancient marine layer pinch-out point line, and the coastline boundary of the Holocenetransgression maximum period is extracted by modern DEM.Through the collation and analysis of existing drilling datingļ¼Œthe characteristicsof the geological structure, stratigraphic distribution and deposition type in thesouth-western coast of Bohai, several high-resolution GPR sections was laid fortracking paleocoastline, to obtain radar images with a continuous stratigraphicsequence. The results show that, the boundary of continental and marine deposits inthe Holocene can be given reliable detection result,by MALA RAMAC100MHzantenna. Using ground-penetrating radar to track palaeostratum in the period ofHolocene transgression, and getting the pinch-out point of marine strata at the ancientsea cliffs, that proves it is feasible that Ground penetrating radar get the the Holocenetransgression position. According to the different types of structure, the study area isdivided into Laizhou Bay, southwest of the Yellow River delta plain and Huanghuaplain. Detection the maximum transgression position using ground-penetrating radar,obtained the radar profiles with pinch-out point of marine strata, which areconsistent with the existing borehole data,and determine three transgression position. GIS has the ability to multi-source data integration and analysis. DEM in theHolocene transgression maximum is constructed by morden DEM, sediment thicknessdata in the near shore, maximum transgression coastline is extracted.
