Due to increased urbanization process and improved environmental requirement, thedemand of environmental special vehicle is growing, its performance is gradually receivingmore and more attention. Welding jig is the key of manufacturing process of environmentalspecial vehicle, The traditional design way of welding jig can not meet enterprise productinput the market rapidly under The fierce market competition. Based on this background,developing a computer aided fixture design (CAFD) system appears particularly important.It Not only improve the design efficiency, reduce product development cycle, and help tothat inherit and develop the knowledge and experience of fixture design.At present, the research on computer aided fixture design system has gradually intomature, but most face machine tool clamps, on welding jig is not many. In order to satisfythe requirements of welding jig rapid design in business enterprise, this paper mainlyresearch work are as follows:(1) The development of CAFD are introduced and the related theory of knowledgeengineering field is researched. That is as theoretical basis of developing fixture CADsystem.(2) The traditional design way and the structure态classification of welding jig isresearched. On that basis, the target and framework of the system is set up.(3) the key technology of case based design is analyzed, and on that basis applyingcase-based reasoning to welding jig, case representing and searching algorithms of weldingjig is putted forward.(4) The method of parametric technology is researched, using based on the graphictemplate parameter design method, the typical combination library and parts library ofwelding jig is established.According to the enterprise meet and the goal of the system, Using seconddevelopment tools of UG that is universal3D software and the tools of Visual C++6.0programming And database technology, CAFD system is developed. Preliminary evidence,the rapid design system of welding jig is achieved in a certain extent and efficiency of theproduct design is improved.
