The cold rolling technology of rings is an advanced precise forming technology. It is a plasticprocessing technology which uses the rolling mill to decrease the thickness, increase the diameterof the rings, and shape the section once. It has many advantages,such as saving materials, makingthe metal fiber continual, improving the corrosion resistance and the fatigue strength of thecomponents, reducing noises and costs and raising the production efficiency. Therefore, thetechnology has been widely applied to processing bearing ring and other rings. At present, theresearch on the cold rolling of rectangular section rings has made great achievements. While theresearch on the cold rolling of irregular cross-section rings is still at an early stage. Therefore,intensive study the cold rolling of complex cross-section rings has important theoreticalsignificance and realistic value.The paper used deep groove ball bearing inner rings as the research object, does a detailedresearch into the key technologies of the cold rolling process used theory,numerical simulationand experiments research method. The formula of technological parameters is inferred viaanalysing the bite conditions and penetration conditions during the cold rolling process of the ring.Then by using rigidity-plastic finite element theory, the FEM model of the cold rolling of the deepgroove ball bearing inner race ring is established based on the DEFORM-3D software. Throughthe finite element simulation research on the cold rolling process of deep groove ball bearing innerring, the strain field, stress field and metal flow law of inner ring of the cold rolling process areanalyzed, research on deformation mechanism of the inner ring cold rolling is done and the reasonwhy flaws occur are found out, which thus lay a foundation for the research on technologicalparameters. The rules of the effect that the rotational rate of the driving roller, the feed rate of theidle roller and the wide-diameter ratio have on the width spread and the increment speed of thediameter is studies. In this way, technological parameters can be decided reasonably to ensure theforming quality and stability of the cold rolling and thus to provide theoretical basis for theoptimization of technological parameters. The rules of the influence of the rotational rate of thedriving roller, the feed rate of the idle roller and the wide-diameter ratio on the rolling force androlling torque is researched to provide a reference for choosing or designing the rolling mill.Experiment on cold rolling of the deep groove ball bearing inner ring is done. Comparing the deformation effect, increment speed of the diameter and the rolling torque of the numericalsimulation with those of the experiment, the reliability of the numerical simulation is reliable.The result of research on the cold rolling process of deep groove ball bearing inner ring havegreat scientific significance on enhancing product quality and production efficiency, and improvingtheory of cold rolling of irregular cross-section ring.
