| In die and mould manufacturing, process planning has very important effect on manufacturing quality and manufacturing cost.The traditional process planning is based on the experience of engineers, which could not meet the requirement of the die and mould manufacturing industry efficiently. With the application of computers in the manufactory industry, the feasibility of applying the computers to assist machining process planning has been proved. Computer aided Proeess Planning(CAPP),means the computer aided design and the document formation for the mechanical part manufacturing process. CAPP technology can improve the quality of the manufacturing process, shorten production preparation period, process design changes and respond quickly, improve the information processing capacity and business information between various departments. And with CAPP technology, the experience of process planning can be fully accumulation and inheritance, the work load of the preparation of technical documents and the possibility of error can be reduced, and the engineers can be relaxed from the tedious, repetitive process planning work.Based on researches on the situation of manufacturing and the process design for automobile panel drawing mold, the CAPP technology for CNC Machining of drawing dies is researched and developed in this paper. The optimized models of rough machining for pockets and finish machining for surfaces are studied, so does the effect of the toolpath on machining time and machining quality. Based on the researches on manufacturing process as well as its process optimization for die and mould, an CNC processing template of automobile panel drawing die is developed by using CAPP technology and PowerMILL software, provided in this paper is able to promote the integration of the CAD/ CAPP/ CAM, to improve the quality and efficiency of CNC programming. The practical application shows that the CAPP process template is feasible and practical. |
