Lead-zinc is a kind of mineral resource with high development value in nonferrous metalsulphide ore, often accompanying some precious metals such as gold, silver, copper and ironbesides lots of metals like lead and zinc, and it has a good recovery and utilization value.However, with wide exploitation in recent years, ore properties have changed obviously in manylead-zinc mines, and the original processes have already not adjusted to the needs of theproperties of the current complex lead-zinc ore so that the beneficiation indexes have declinedyear by year. For this purpose, this paper takes lead and zinc sulfide ore in Guangdong asresearch subject and conducts its flotation process and mechanism research in order to providethe basis for finding a more appropriate separating process of lead and zinc sulfide ore. The mainresearch contents are as follows:The properties of this lead-zinc sulphide ore was identified according to the technologicalmineralogy. The results showed that lead-zinc minerals of the ore were mainly present in form ofgalena and sphalerite, there were differences in monomer dissociation of lead-zinc minerals dueto the complicated embedding feature and uneven disseminated grain size, and monomerdissociation was better for lead-zinc minerals with coarse-medium fraction but difficult for theminerals with fine fraction, which had a negative impact on the beneficiation recovery oflead-zinc minerals.According to technological mineralogy study results, mineral processing technologyresearch of a lead and zinc sulfide ore in Guangdong was conducted. The results showed that thecraft of not regrinding of rough lead concentrate obtained a lead concentrate containing lead60.11%,lead recovery90.43%and zinc5.13%,zinc recovery6.34%and a zinc concentratecontaining lead1.12%,lead recovery2.14%and zinc51.33%,zinc recovery80.45%. The craft ofregrinding of rough lead concentrate obtained a lead concentrate containing lead62.43%,leadrecovery93.76%and zinc3.73%,zinc recovery4.60%and a zinc concentrate containing lead1.03%, lead recovery1.98%and zinc51.43%, zinc recovery81.35%.Obviously, the craft ofregrinding of rough lead concentrate can receive better separation indexes in lead concentrategrade and recovery. Compared with the original practical craft, lead grade has been enhanced3.05%and lead recovery3.36%in lead concentrate, zinc grade has been enhanced0.40%and zinc recovery1.28%in zinc concentrate. The test index is good and the economic benefit isremarkable.The mechanism research of mineral processing technology was proceed using of lead andzinc sulfide ore surface oxidation of thermodynamics principle of a lead and zinc sulfide oredressing craft in Guangdong. The results showed that with the rise of the pH of lead and zincsulfide ore in water system, potential Eh gradually raised. The surface oxidation productconverted from the hydrophobic S0to the hydrophilic S2O32-and metal hydroxide andobtained a different oxidation products; At the same time, it showed that diethyl dithiocarbamatehad good selective collectivity for galena than butyl xanthate and bad for sphalerite, especially inalkaline conditions, with bad flotability of sphalerite. Therefore, the flotation separation of leadand zinc sulfide minerals can be obtained by adopting diethyl dithiocarbamate as the collector ofgalena.
