The rocket engine nozzle is a large sculpture surface and thin-walled parts, groove processing produced large deformation. If the part is processed by the design size directly, it is difficult to ensure the tolerance of nozzle bottom. Aimed at the problem that current production efficiency of liquid rocket engine nozzle groove milling is low, and product quality is hard to ensure, this article developed a vertical CNC equipment with double column for rocket engine nozzle groove milling, hardware structure and electrical control design of the groove milling machine tool was researched, besides, the development of related functions about CNC was done according to the processing requirements.The double columns CNC equipment for milling groove was designed, The vertical machining method requires installation of the workpiece only one time, and then workpiece measurement and processing can be achieved, which reduced the error caused by repeatedly chucking and improved product quality and efficiency.FANUC310i open CNC system was selected as the control unit, based on the numeral control system, a few functions about groove milling was developed adapted to requirements.PMC electrical control procedure and multi-spindle control procedure was designed for the open numerical control system and groove milling equipment. To meet the need of data picked up when laser measuring, dual-channel fast、sequential extraction procedure of the machine coordinate was developed, which greatly improved the measurement efficiency. Optimize the parameters of the CNC system and servo system, and solved the chattering phenomenon in the equipment operating, improved the overall performance of the groove milling equipment.The measurement experiment and the processing experiment were done by this device, the experiment result shows that the dual-channel continuous measurement can pick up machine coordinates and sensor data fast and accurately, which improved measurement efficiency.Detection result of the processed workpiece shows that quality of the workpiece fully meet the manufacture requirements using the researched technique.
