For a long time, people has been committed to studying about twist drill and gun drill inthe area of deep-hole processing, and cares little about the staggered tooth BTA drill, and theirresearch is mainly about the improvement and optimization of structure of the drill, it’s hard toprecisely predict the different changes within the drill. Having known the advantages,disadvantages, and development of the staggered tooth BTA drill, we select it to make theorydesign and experiment study.Having summarized the technology of design and manufacturing of the deep-hole drill athome and aboard, we reasonably chooses the scheme, parameters and the material,corresponding to which, we has designed the tool system of deep-hole drilling with specialdeep-hole processing equipment. The system is consisted of drill bit, drill stem and drill stock.In the condition of normal force, the drill stock will not be sheared off under torque, andplastic deformation will not occur under axial thrust; Once the torque or feed force is too large,the strength of the drill stock and the stock connection part will not be enough, and the drillstem will break down before the drill stock, while the bit in the drill stock is undamaged. Thispaper analyzes and researches the drill bit of the staggered tooth BTA drill, especially theblade part. We establish the three-dimension parameter model of the drill by Pro/E, analyzethe stress of the drill bit, simulate the process of drilling using Deform-3D, and finally acquirethe cutting force, torque, cutting temperature and tool wear in the process and the stress andstrain within the drill, according to which, we propose improvement measures in structure andprocess manufacture. According to the analysis, we manufacture the physical object, makeexperiment research with which, and acquire the data of axial force and torque. By comparingmeasurement data with theory, we avoid the error in design and the waste of cost, and there is reference value to a certain extent.
