As the core of the cement industry production equipment, cement rotary kiln operation condition and various performance indicators directly influences the economic efficiency of enterprises. In normal working circumstances, the Shell transfer all its weight to roller support through the tire, tire make contact with roller, and drive roller rotation with friction. Tire’s mechanical damage and space position change will bring huge economic losses to the enterprise, and may even cause serious production accidents. In the practical production, tire doesn’t do rotation movemen around a fixed pointt, but does a certain partial swing, tire’s swing makes its rotating center in a dynamic position, this also reflect the bending deformation of shell’s axis indirectly. The tire swing is to exert an impact load to the supporting roller to speed up tire wear and damage. The gear rim driven shell rotating, and the circular runout would make the whole rotary kiln to do vibration and have a noise, in severe cases, lead to severe wear or damage the tooth of gear rim.Therefore, the testing of tire swing and gear rim circular runout not only can help correct judgment their working state for machine maintenance personnel, but also can prevent from various major accident.Through study the status of cement rotary kiln equipment maintenance both at home and abroad, we find the existing measurement methods of the tire swing and gear rim circular runout still exist many faults, so, it is necessary to study a high precision measurement method with a new measuring technology, it is a new, simple, safe, reliable, and wide application measuring system about the tire swing and gear rim circular runout of rotary kiln.Based on the analysis of the existing measurement method of the tire swing and gear rim circular runout, put forward a new measurement method, machine vision measurement method, also call photographic method, and solve the its key technology, auxiliary machinery structure and visual image data processing software, etc. Its main principle includs the following several process.Firstly, through the camera gain image data of the tested object; Secondly, using computer, LabVIEW software and visual processing module, IMAQ Vision, to analysis and deal with the image data; Finally, calculated and show extraction measurement result. In this paper, analyzing the measurement significance of the tire swing and gear rim circular runout and their several differenyt measuring methods, through compare the advantages and disadvantages of different measurement methods to respectively guidance and design the new positions measurement principle and methods of the tire swing and gear rim circular runout. First of all, analyze the key technology of photographic measurement system, including to determine the structural support and reference of the staff, to analyze photographic background and to select the camera; Next, to introduce a new measurement technology, machine vision measurement technology; Finally, to desgin vision position measuring system separately of the tire swing and gear rim circular runout with Lab VIEW software and IMAQ Vision package, it can automatically gather target image data, and perform some of the analysis and processing for image data, through the feature extraction and calculation to obtain the measurement results, and to display out these results real time with many ways in display panel, at the same time, storing the measurement results.
