Slender shaft is very important to machines in mechanic industry. With the developmentof modern industrial technology, the quality of parts need more and more precise. Slendershaft finish machining is often used the traditional processing method, such as turning orgrinding.This method not only have low work efficiency,need operators more skill and highlabor intensity,but also can not guarantee the machining quality,in particular the roundnesserror is too large cylindrical or makes polygon,bamboo shape defects,etc.It is easy todeformation and vibration during the process,because slender shaft have low length anddiameter ratio and poor rigidity. So the traditional method can not make high precise.In this paper, research is carried out on the commonly used clamping means of slendershaft machining,the chuck-top clamping method, the top-top clamping method and thechuck-chuck tailstock axial tension means.Studying on deformation mechanism withmechanics analysis.Secondly, introduce finite element analysis software ABAQUS and finiteelement basic knowledge.This can make a preparation for the next analysis. Thirdly, focusingon the theory and the force analysis of slender shaft machining rolling with three tools. UsingABAQUS finite element analysis software to make a simulation of whirling rolling process.Investigating the effect of the rolling process with rolling wheel which have the line workingplane. Finally, useing the modal analysis to determine the long shaft of natural frequencies,mode shapes and so on. On the base of frequency and vibration model,to find whether the longshaft in the processing has occurred resonance with the machine.This can reduce the fluence ofthe vibration to the rolling process.Whirling rolling can not only have high processing precision, increase efficiency andreduce labour intensity,it also can make the slender shaft have equal force during theprocess.So whirling rolling can reduce the slender shaft machining deformation.
