Design Of Welding Simulating System Based On MFC And OpenGL

Welding technology developed rapidly from initially structure workpiece welding toimportant equipment manufacture. Automatic level of welding equipment has become astandard to determine the developing level of equipment manufacture of a country. So farthere has been more than a small gap between China and developed countries, as a result,welding equipment in our country need much more development.Welding simulating was an important one among the trends of automatic weldingtechnology. On one hand, it was able to enhance welding efficiency, to reduce cost withcomputer technology, on the other hand, it could be used in education, to provide a platformwith abundant study resources for the learners of welding technology. The design of weldingsimulating system used for education need comprehensive analysis of welding technologies,robot structure, simulating contents etc.At first, GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding) was adopted after the comparison of all kindsof welding techniques, and all necessary parameters were affirmed. After that the weldingmovement was split up and proper structure was adopted as simulating object, the picture ofwhich was drawn with OpenGL.Secondly, the framework of the simulating system was developed with MFC after thecontents of education simulating experiments and functions of the simulating system weredesigned. After that, human-machine interaction functions and display functions weredesigned, with which collision detection and mouse respond functions were designed at thesame time to promote convenience.At last, intersection line was chose as the welding object in the education weldingsimulating. Then the welding simulation of the intersection line was achieved aftermathematics models of workpiece and welding movement were established.Finally, all functions of the education welding simulating system were accomplishedthrough precise design and repeated tests, and satisfaction was achieved.
