Forging machine plays a very important role in manufacturing. As a new generationforging equipment, Servo press which is driven by the servo motor with high controllabilityhas a good prospect and great value to study. Control of the servo motor and the structure ofthe driving part determine characteristics of the servo press. Therefore, the study of thedriving part has an important significance. In this paper, the driving part of the multi-linkservo press is systematically analyzed and optimal designed. The contents and research resultsare as follows:1. Did a systematic analysis of the driving part of the multi-link servo press,and focused onthe analysis of the triangular knuckle driving mechanisms. Built the kinematicalmathematical model of each driving mechanisms,and analyzed the characteristics andadvantages of each driving mechanisms. Determine the optimal design objective of eachdriving mechanisms according to the relevant plastic processing technology.2. The Top-Triangular-Knuckle mechanism has comprehensive characteristics, it has aconsiderable power amplification while the speed of the slider is high. With the highcontrollability of the servo motor, press with this driving part can be used for variousprocessing technologies.3. The Middle-Triangular-Knuckle (MTK) mechanism has significant power amplificationeffect. This driving part can generate a very high processing power in a long distance fromthe bottom dead center. One optimized MTK mechanism can guarantee a more than3times force amplification in the stroke of290mm from the bottom dead center; anotheroptimized MTK mechanism can guarantee a more than10times force amplification in thestroke of65mm from the bottom dead center, this is difficult for other kinds ofmechanisms. Therefore the MTK driving part is very suitable for the drawing processing.4. The Bottom-Triangular-Knuckle (BTK) mechanism has a very high slider speed. Theslider speed of one optimized BTK mechanism is very high while the force amplificationis also high. Therefore the BTK driving part is suitable for the high-speed press.
