Geotextile is used in civil engineering. The main raw materials are woven or non-woven by the method made of from the downstream petroleum products (polyesterfibers, polyamide fibers, polyethylene, polypropylene). Due to low production and m-anufacture cost, long service life and other advantages, the geotextile with cement, st-eel, wood, is known as the" four major building materials". Geotextile can be dividedinto woven geotextiles and knitted geotextiles. The structure of woven geotextile is m-ost stable. Woven geotextile is most widely used in strengthening, reinforced, erosionand other high strength engineering requirements.Purpose of this research project is to develop a kind of geotextile using in the sl-ope protection. The fabric is paved on the steep slope areas which can not only controlfor hydraulic, wind erosion, but also contribute to the growth of plant using in slopeprotection. Considering to the advantages in strengthening, the geotextile is intertwi-ned by the jute yarn and polypropylene filament. In comprehensive consideration ofthe fabric structure parameters (such as fabric, warp and weft density, fabric tightnessand the proportion of raw materials etc.) on fabric properties, testing relevant param-eters (such as the rainfall process in fabric covering soil runoff, sediment concentrati-on) on the function of soil and water conservation, this project has analyzed the relat-ed indicators (such as: fabric thickness, pore size, permeability and so on) on Soiland water conservation fabric properties, by orthogonal analysis, this project has sele-cted the most suitable soil and water conservation geotextile sample.During the test, the fabric strength and elongation testing uses wide strip tensilemethod and25°of the experimental plot to simulate artificial rainfall experiment. Th-is project tests intensity of rainfall for different conditions of soil covering differentfabrics. The obtained experimental data were aggregation and orthogonal analysis todetermine the structural parameters of the fabric’s ability to influence and extent of so-il and water conservation. The analysis showed that the development of geotextile hasexcellent mechanical properties, able to adapt to the harsher natural environment, wh-ile the rainfall during the formation of runoff has a significant weakening of the roleof the special mesh structure also able to store rain water, for the slope has a role in p- romoting the cultivation of plants. The degradation test and temperature&humidity of soil covered with fabric testshowed that the geotextile is beneficial to promote the growth of plants and environm-ent protection. Geotextile can be combined with plants to form interactions. Its life islonger, and cost is lower. Geotextiles can be widely used in slope protection project, has the certain ability to protect environment.
