Cotton textiles are necessities in our daily lives and people have increasingly rigorousdemands of them with the improvement of living standards. Thus higher requirement on thetextile industry have been proposed to.The drawing plays an important role in cotton-spinning technology and determines thequality of the textile products. Currently the high performance drawing frames are equippedwith computer-controlled auto-leveling systems to improve the performance of the drawingprocess. The on-line monitoring system of sliver quality and auto-leveling control system arethe key technology in the manufacture of the drawing frame. Most of The high-end foreigndrawing frames have been equipped whit such automated equipments. It is important todevelop the on-line monitoring system and the auto-leveling control system with proprietaryintellectual property rights.This paper analyses the status of the on-line monitoring system of sliver and theauto-leveling control system, and implements the main algorithm of them.At first, the on-line monitoring system and auto-leveling control system are divided intodifferent modules by the functions and verify the feasibility. Then the hardware structure aredetermined according to the functional requirements. The algorithm is simulated on Matlaband LabVIEW to check the validity. At last, the algorithm is implemented on the hardwareplatform based on ARM-DSP-FPGA, and eventually the stability and reliability of the systemis proved by field experiment.The on-line monitoring system monitors the quality of the sliver and the running statusof the draming frame. The auto-leveling control system controls the electronic gear. The ratioof the electronic gear can be changed intelligently by the control system what makes it easierto change the type of the sliver.
