Injection products related to all aspects of social production and people’s lives, it is widelyused in automotive supplies, medical appliance, household appliance, food and so on. With theincreasing of economy, more and more injection products are demanded and the speed of designis request to improve. Injection mold standard part library as an important component in theinjection mold has a strong influence to the design.With the development of CAD technology, the application of CAD for mold has been aneffective way to improve the quality and efficiency of mold design and manufacturing. However,the mold design based on CAD platform focuses on the common problems presently, thestructure design of injection mold has become a weak section, because it has been still used of atraditional way which is low-efficiency and complicated. On the other hand, the parts in theinjection mold are usually serialized standard parts including screw, guide pillar, guide sleeveand so on. If the standard parts are designed manually, it may result in a large number of repeateddesign work and human mistake. Therefore, it is important to build injection mold standard partlibrary on the general CAD platform to raise design efficiency.Under this background, the application of standardization in injection mold, the developmentof CAD for injection mold at home and abroad and the technology of re-development base onUG were researched comprehensively. And an injection mold standard part library wasembedded. This library used parameterized designing way to build template parts, and a friendlyuser’s interface was developed.The injection mold standard part library was built with the development tool of VS2005andwas developed by internal mode. So it can be easily loaded into UG running space, and perfectlyintegrated with UG. The library has a friendly interface, easy operation and accurate positioning.It can not only liberate designers form complicated design work, but also raise product efficiencyand reduce human mistake.
