In the complex processing of drilling rigs, to improve the control ability of drilling rigs,reduce the energy consumption, prolong the life of rig, improve the drilling efficiency,optimize drilling technology, meet the requirements of engineering, and achieve thehigh-efficiency, automation and intelligent of drilling. We need to go deep into the research ofthe drilling rotary drive system, the control method of driving system and the control ability ofdrilling rigs. It is proposal the study and the innovations in the paper as bellow:1. The dynamics model and the load characteristics model are established to the drillingrotary nonlinear system, and analyzed the variety of rotation rate with the bit torque andtorsion vibration characteristic of rotary system.2. A derivative and integral sliding mode controller is proposed to improve the safety andstability, and avoid the harmful shake in the drilling processing. The simulation results showthat the AC variable frequency drive system works more reliable than the DC variablefrequency drive system; the slide PI controller based on different reaching law combined theadvances of slide and PI control system, decreases the time to reach the sliding surface,improve both the static and dynamic response, enhance the robustness and stability of thesystem.3. A double surface sliding PID control with AC variable frequency drive of themulti-DOF model is proposed to the drilling rotary system. The system gets the advantages ofAC variable frequency drive system and can rapidly goes into the sliding mode withrobustness.
