| The art of Uyghur folk patterns is a kind of folk art with distinctive ethnic characteristics, and it comes from the Uyghur people’s life as the crystallization of wisdom and hard-work of the Uyghur people. Affected by history, region, foreign culture and religion, the Uyghur Folk Patterns have come to form its unique style which reflects distinctive regional features, national characteristics and religious culture. Those kinds of patterns, which appears to be used for surface decoration, are indeed the combination of minority economic features and ethical psychological characters, thus studying the patterns on national costume has become one of the key methods to study the background of its history and culture. The abstraction and conversion of the essence of the Uyghur traditional Patterns, with modern aesthetic concept, aiming to enrich the visual representation of traditional graphics. Meanwhile it remains the ethnic character that has led to the inheritance and development of Xinjiang Uighur ornamental patterns in modern graphic design. With the development of the information network, the digital pattern art design has become the mainstream among the art design industry. Using Human-computer interaction techniques, which takes full advantages of both human and computer, patterns can be analyzed and transformed to a new one. It not only improves the design quality and efficiency, but also makes it possible to get some special effects that can’t be done by hand. The ultimate objective for the article is to design several new kinds of patterns with the fusion of Uyghur traditional pattern style and modern design, using computer graphics and Image-Process technique.Based on these two aspects, the main contents of this article include the research of Uyghur traditional costume and the design generation of Uyghur innovative patterns. For the research part, Uyghur traditional patterns are collected and their designs and implication expressions are studied at first; and then the dress patterns are classified according to different designs; finally, the effect of history religion region, other aspects on the development and applications of Uyghur costume patterns, and their color characteristics are also analyzed. For the design part, firstly, some representative Uyghur folk patterns are selected to extract graphic elements with image segmentation. Secondly, the plane composition and permutation transform of graphic elements in Uyghur patterns are analyzed, which turns a two dimensional abstract pattern into a series of regular geometry graphs. Mathematics is used to express Composition Rules, such as rules for movement (move in a straight or curve), rules of zooming and complex transformation (quadratic sequence, continuity in all directions, rules for circles and rules for dendriform shapes). At last, some rules are illustrated as example to put forward the calculation method and describe the implementation process, which helps to simplify the Uyghur pattern design as well as shorten the design time. |
