As HTAC be used on metallurgy furnace, the regenerative furnace is an important technological innovation in the area of combustion and thermal engineering. Compared with the traditional furnace, the regenerative furnace is taken seriously in the furnace area, for its superiority in the energy saving and environmental protection. It is of great significance to the theory and application on learning the thermal characteristics of the regenerative furnace.Although the regenerative furnace has many advantages, it has a lot of immature and unreasonable things in the design, development and operation, the production do not meet the requirements, the furnace operating conditions are very bad. So this article set an example of a regenerative furnace in Angang Steel Company Limited. By methods of theoretical basis analysis, thermal test, numerical simulation, optimization and etc, I analysis the furnace from practice to theory and the to practice, thus complete the regenerative combustion technology improvements.The main contents of the article include:(1) Do a numerical simulation on an experimental furnace, and use its results to verify the accuracy of the model, and then analyze the impact of the air absolute speed, relative speed and the nozzle angle on the temperature distribution, velocity vector distribution and atmosphere in the furnace.(2) By analyzing the thermal test of the regenerative furnace in Angang Steel Company Limited, identify the problems and the reasons, and then propose the measures to resolve.(3) After deriving the equation of the diameter and the optimal design of the regenerator, I use the VB6.0, the Access2003, and the modular structure, and then develop a regenerative pusher furnace preliminary design software, and complete the preliminary design of the regenerative furnace in Angang Steel Company Limited. At last, I propose transformation of the specific use of technical measures and overall reform program.(4) Do an optimal analysis of part of the structure and operating parameters of the furnace using the orthogonal experimental method, and get the optimal conditions. By doing the steady and unsteady numerical solution of the furnace, I verify the applicability of the physical model and the accuracy of the VB programming modular rational design. At the same time, I know how the flow field, temperature field and the pressure field change in the furnace. At last provide a theoretical reference to solve the pressure in the regenerative furnace caused by fluctuations.
