A new energy-saving electrolysis mode with several uncontrolled electrodes between controlled electrodes (anode and cathode) or beyond them was developed. The current efficiency of the new mode will be above100%.Firstly,"A" scheme and "B" scheme were compared in CUSO4-H2SO4aqueous solution, their energy-saving efficiency were10%and50%, respectively. Effect of number of uncontrolled electrode, assembly forms of cell, controlled electrode gap, the qulity of charge, current density, concentration of CUSO4and H2SO4and temperature on current efficiency and energy-saving efficiency were investigated. The highest current efficiency of "B" scheme could be up to187%and the energy-saving efficiency was above50%.Secondly, the electrode potential was measured by electrochemical workstation. The potentials of uncontrolled cathodes of "A" scheme were higher than that of "B" scheme, and ones of uncontrolled anodes of "A" scheme were lower than that of "B" scheme. That is why the energy-saving efficiency of "B" scheme was higher. Finally, the mathematical model of potential distribution was established to analyze the muti-electrodes system. Potential distributions during diffusion layer and bulk of the electrolyte obey exponential distribution and linear distribution, respectively.
