| This paper is based on virtual reality technology platform to optimize a heavy machinetool design and evaluation. Virtual reality technology is a new type of high-tech technology,its application range is gradually expanding, to apply the technology belongs to the ifrst of itskind in heavy machine tools, to meet the need of heavy machine tool design. Therefore, nowit is urgent to farewell to the time of design simply on institutive and experience and usher ina brand-new design system so as to offer a hand to designers in their evaluation and decision.Based on a thorough analysis of the virtual reality technology and its development trendboth at home and abroad, this thesis aims to apply such technology into the design of heavymachine tools. The whole process includes the setting up of a complete virtual realityplatform on the basis of3dmax and VRP, the collection of various design materials, theproduct modeling,the choice of light and texture, the research on the interaction design andthe evaluation of the whole design,etc., in which a series of design and statistical methods areemployed such as the idea of modular design,fuzzy mathematical evaluation. The resultproves that the integrated design system and the corresponding reasonable evaluation methodscan not only improve the design eiffciency but also reduce the design risk and bring morebeneifts to the enetrprises as well. Moreover, it also presents that besides the newopportunities, the virtual reality technology brings also challenges in the product design,hence there still being numerous problems ready to be researched and solved in this ifled. |
