With the development of human society, people’s living standards continue to improve, and the demand for cars is increased, which contribute to the development of the automobile industry. Although the car has brought great convenience to people’s lives, noise pollution is becoming a problem. The most effective way and practical method to reduce the noise of the exhaust system is to use a muffler in the exhaust system, which will lead to the engine power decreased, therefore a balance must be found between them. In this paper, we will analysis and research on a muffler with the use of computer-aided software simulationFirstly, the finite element model of the perforated pipe muffler was established, and analysis the improved structure and the two layers of two layers of perforated pipe muffler with different perforation rate with LMS Virtual.Lab simulation, and results showed that the two layers of perforated pipe muffler has obvious advantages in the high-frequency stage muffler performance than single perforated pipe muffler. Perforated tube Muffler considering the temperature and the one does not was studied too, and we can see, the transmission lost of the muffler will decrease when the temperature increases, and the direction of figure move to the high frequency band. The pressure loss of single and double Perforated Muffler was searched with the use of Fluent software, and the pressure loss of single and double perforated pipe muffler is not much of difference, which suggesting that the perforation has little effect on pressure loss. Last, we establish the finite element model of the main-vice muffler and analysis the fluid flow characteristics, from the gas temperature field characteristics in the muffler, we can see that the temperature within the main-vice muffler change in small scale, and the later simulation analysis is based on the hypothesis that the temperature is the same for the acoustic characteristics analysis on the main-sub Muffler. By comparison with original muffler, the improved muffler with different perforation rate on the vice muffler has a district advantage...
