ObjectiveTo investigate the relationship between intracranialinfection and cerebral infarction after intracranialaneurysm clipping surgery.MethodsIndividual data for patients with surgically clippedintracranial aneurysms in a single clinical researchcenter from January2008to September2011were gatheredfor retrospective analysis. The incidence of cerebralinfarction explored in30cases who suffered frompostoperative intracranial infection were compared withother30cases who did not.ResultsThe group of intracranial infection after aneurysmsurgery has12cases occurred cerebral infarction, the ratewas40%. The control group has4cases occurred cerebralinfarction, the rate was13.3%. The former infarction rateis higher than the latter. The results of the statisticalchi-square test, χ~2=5.455, P <0.05(P=0.020),hasstatistical significance. ConclusionIntracranial infection increases the incidence ofcerebral infarction after intracranial aneurysm surgery.Clinical physicians should pay attention to the preventionand treatment of cerebral infarction, as well as treatmentof intracranial infection.
