Background: Pituitary adenomas is one of the common central nervoussystem tumors, The incidence is the3rd of intracranial tumors, and in recentyears, it shows an upward trend. The treatment of pituitary tumors generallyinclude surgery, drug treatment and radiation therapy.Now the preferredtreatment is surgery, while under development of the microsurgery, directtransnasal transsphenoidal approach has been shows its superiority,and drugtreatment and radiation therapy is treated as adjuvant chemotherapy.Objective：110inpatients who have received the direct transnasaltranssphenoidal approach surgery and their clinical dates were chosen to reviewfrom2010to2011in the First Hospital of Jilin university.Discuss the clinicalmanifestations, diagnosis of pituitary tumors, surgical treatment, postoperative.Results: in this110cases,43cases were male (39.1%),67cases werefemale (60.9%). The age distribution between3.9years to77years.89caseswere Macroadenoma (89/110,80.9%),21cases were microadenomas (21/110,19.1%),macroadenomas accounted for the majority. Clinical symptoms:headache, dizziness, blurred vision, decreased vision, blurred vision,hypopsia,diplopia, menstrual disorders, amenorrhea, galactorrhea, acromegalyappearance of hand-foot-thick swelling, back and joint pain. Preoperativeroutine examination including endocrine examinnation,imaging studies, part ofthem take the line eye examination.110inpatients all have received the directtransnasal transsphenoidal approach surgery.There is no case of death among110patients. Postoperative complications is fewer mild.And that had beendiagnosed as pituitary adenomas by pathology.The postoperative clinicalsymptoms in patients is ease or disappear, The rate of the improvement is about 91%. The effective rate of100%.Conclusion:The surgery therapy is coming to the micro-injury period,and the direct transnasal transsphenoidal approach is becoming the standardand safe operation method. It has the virtues such as surgery widely,harmless,soon recovery,postoperative clinical symptoms had the very big relief, whichhave got great improvement.Less postoperative complications is anothervirtue, which is easy to get timely and effective treatment. Under the premiseof the master surgical indications, the surgical method should be affirmed.Byusing neuronavigation and high-speed electric power drill in surgery for thesphenoid sinus gasification of patients successfully, that expanding theindications of the transsphenoidal surgery.
