| ObjectiveTo observe the clinical curative effect and the safety of treating spastic paralysis after stroke by ginger-separated moxibustion combined with acupuncture treatment, and discuss its mechanism initially so as to explore a therapeutic method which has definite effect and is easy to be operated.MethodsAccording to the inclusion criteria,60patients of spastic paralysis after stroke were selected by randomly divided into treatment group and control group, with30cases in each group. The treatment group was treated by ginger-separated moxibustion combined with routine acupuncture treatment, while the control group was treated by the therapy of routine acupuncture. With the same acupoints and acupuncture operation, the patients of the two groups were treated once a day for5days a week, and were treated continiously after2days, which last3weeks.The same regular basic drug therapy was given to the both groups. Spastic degrees, motor function level and daily life ability of the two groups patients were assessed by using modified Ashworth spastic rating, brief Fugl-Meyer assessment and Barthel’s ADL indexes methods before and after treatment.ResultsTested by chi-square test and inspection(p>0.05), the baseline informations of the two groups patients before treatment are comparable. Spastic state, motor function level and daily life ability of both groups were improved after3weeks treatment, and has statistical significance compared to those before treatment. The improvement of spastic state and motor function level of the treatment group were superior to the control group, the difference was statistically signi ficant (P<0.05). The upper limb motor function level of the two groups were improved after treatment, and the difference of the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).The lower limbs motor function level of the two groups were improved after treatment, but there was no significant differences(P>0.05). The Barthe1’s ADL indexes had significant improvement in both groups, but the difference was not statistically significant (P>0.05). The efficacy in spastic state, motor function level and daily life ability of both groups were compared and there was significant difference of the statistical effects between the two groups (P<0.05), which indicated that the treatment group is superior to the control group in the curative effect.ConclusionThe spastic state of patients, motor function and the abil ity of daily life of patients can be improved by ginger-separated moxibustion with acupuncture treatment, all of that are better than routine acupuncture, especially in reducing spastic state and improving motor function. |
