The treatment group were treated with ginger moxibustion while the control group treated with needling. The selection of points in the two groups is the same. The selection of points during premenstrual period is mainly BL23(Shenshu), DU4(Mingmen), DU3(Yaoyangguan), BL32(Ciliao), while during the postmenstrual period it is RN4(Guanyuan), RN6(Qihai), SP6(Sanyinjiao), ST29(Guilai), ST36(Zusanli). Two groups of patients were treated once a day, three times a week, menstrual suspended. A menstrual cycle was a course of treatment. The two groups received continuous treatment of3courses.According to the2002Chinese Medicine Science and Technology Press’ s 《Guiding principles for Clinical Research of New Drugs of Traditional Chinese Medicine》, established upon efficacy evaluation of the reference through the standard score for each patients before, after and follow-up3months treatment, the patient’s menstrual cycle, menstrual flow, abdominal pain, preference for warmth and pressure, aching and weakness of the loins, clear abundant urine, loose stool, accompanied by symptoms such as descriptive indicators were studied and inferred. Evaluate clinical efficacy of ginger moxibustion treatment for delayed menstruation with cold deficiency type. Results Baseline data of two groups was compared using T test for categorical variables and Wilcoxon rank sum test for matches variables, were not statistically significant (P>0.05), comparable. Two groups of patients overall efficacy, the total score, the score of each symptom of the cold deficiency syndrome were significantly reduced after three courses of treatment and follow-up after three months treatment, compared with that before treatment were significant difference (P<0.01), while the total score of main symptoms shows no significant change (P>0.05).ConclusionThe ginger moxibustion therapy for delayed menstruation with cold deficiency type is effective, improves symptoms better, especially relieving the symptoms of cold deficiency syndrome.
