And then followed up the length (height) of children. All thechildren were singletons and terms at birth and congenital abnormalitiesand the disease were ruled out which may cause growth deviation. Allfollow-up phases of at least two times follow-up time is continuous.Thechildren with chronic diseases were ruled out too.Long-term oral orintravenous usage of glucocorticoids or immunity regulator. The length andweight of newbornã€the height and weight of pregnant motherã€thefollow-up heights of children were measured by professionals withstandard instrument. The data of children from2005national childrengrowth standard were used as the references. Growth of“Catch upâ€and“Catch downâ€was defined as the percentiles shifted across at leastone main percentile. The prevalence of stunting is defined by World HealthOrganization (WHO)standard, height for age were assessed with Z scoremethod and height for age z-score(HAZ)<-2. Statistical Analysis:numericdata in normal distribution are described with mean±standard deviationï¼›Comparison of children’s height of different groups using paired samplet-test. Independent two binary data using Chis-quared test comparison. Thefactors influencing the Stunting rates were analyzed through the logisticregression mod:sexã€children’s basic weighã€height and weight of pregnantwoman. There is significant difference when P<O.05.All the statistical dataare analyzed by SPSS17.0software.Result:In this study,in all age groups of height(length) of the childrenin chongqing are lower than the national average cross section except thenewborn, the children born in2005are taller than which born in2002whenthey are2.5years old, the differences all had statisticalsignificance(P<0.05)ï¼› The Percentage of “Catch—down†growth and“Catch—up†growth decreased with age under5years. The prevalence ofstunting was higher in girlchild in all age groups, the max prevalence was11.9percent in2.5years. Sexã€children’s basic weightã€height and BMI ofpregnant woman all have significant influence on height in children of2years old。Mother height is most important influencing factor。Conclusions: In this study, the height of the children are lower than the national average cross section. The main height percentile is easy to changein Children under the age of five which showed instability characteristics. The prevalence of female stunting was higher than male.Stunting was theresult of many risk factors,Heredity factor were the chief factors. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | children, height, stunting, follow-up study | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
