| Objective:Abnormal Uterine Bleeding in Adolescents(AUBA) is one of the most commonly encountered medical problems in the transition from childhood to maturity. The etiology of abnormal uterine bleeding in girls is usually related to an immature hypothalamic-pituitary axis which results in anovulatory cycles. We studied the impacs of the treatments of estrogen in combination with progesterone and Chinese Traditional Medicine togerther with progesterone on AUBA patients whose Yang deficiency in kedney and spleen. volume and duration of the menstrual flow, clinical effects, effects on signs of Chinese Traditional Medicine, ovulatory efficiency, and safety were compared in the two groups. To provid a clinical trial and shed a light on the treatment of AUBA patients whose Yang deficiency in kedney and spleen, and to elucidate the mechanisms of Chinese Traditional Medicine in combination with western medicine treatments of the disease. Methods:The study including75consecutive patients with affirmed diagnosis of Abnormal Uterine Bleeding(AUB) according to the Obstetrics and Gynecology and Gynecology of Chinese Traditional Medicine in the clinic and in-patient department of Chinese Traditional Medicine Hospital of Wuhan from March1,2010to December1,2011.75patients whose Yang deficiency in kedney and spleen were randomized into two groups, the Chinese Traditional Medicine togerther with progesterone treated group(38) and estrogen in combination with progesterone treated control(37). We surveied the body temperature, hemoglobin, and the levels of progesterone of midluteal phase in the serum after treatments. Course of disease, the duration of colporrhagia, and signs scores of Chinese Traditonal Medicine were analyzed using the Student’s t test. Results:The recovery rate and the effect on hemostasis are equal in two groups with the P value>0.05, interestingly, the sign scores of Chinese Traditonal Medicine were dramaticly ameliorated in the Chinese Traditional Medicine togerther with progesterone treated group, but not in the estrogen in combination with progesterone treated patients(P<o.05). As to adverse reactions, fewer patients treated with Chinese Traditional Medicine togerther with progesterone occurred nausea and vomit than that of in patients who were administered estrogen in combination with progesterone(P<0.05).Conclusion:in this study, we focused on AUBA patients whose Yang deficiency in kedney and spleen,38patients were treated with the method of Chinese Traditional Medicine togerther with progesterone,37other comparable patients were administered estrogen in combination with progesterone. The recovery rate and the effect on hemostasis are equal in two groups, the results suggests the efficiency of Chinese Traditional Medicine in combination with western medicine. And in other aspects, Chinese Traditional Medicine togerther with progesterone could ameliorate the sign scores of Chinese Traditonal Medicine and may have fewer and slight adverse effects than the hormonal only management. |
