| Background:It is important and difficult to manage complex fistula-in-ano because of high recurrent rate and incontinent. Now, there are many sphincter-preserving surgical treatments of complex anal fistula, such as seton, anal fistula plug, advancement flap, et al. However they can’t increase cure rate and protect anal function simultaneously. Ligation of intersphincteric fistula tract(LIFT) makes it possible to solve above contradiction. But there is no article about LIFT in internal medical magazines and clinical random contrast trial is lacking. Objective:To review the preliminary results of the LIFT technique in treating complex anal fistulas, evaluate its advantage and defect objectively, then provide scientific evidences for clinical application.Methods:30patients with complex cryptoglandular anal fistulas were divided into two groups. The study group were treated with the LIFT procedure. And the controlled group underwent low fistulotomy and high cutting seton. Observing contrastively operation time, hospitalization time, rework time, wound healing time, the degree of preoperative and postoperative continence, postoperative pain, et al.Results:Compared with the two groups, hospitalization time, the degree of postoperative continence, postoperative pain were significant statistically(P<0.05). And the study group is better than the other. Conclusion:The LIFT procedure has favourable healing rates with little or no risk of incontinence and short wound healing time. This operation is an important innovation and is worth to popularize. |
