Function Of The Family During The Treatment Of Children With Autism

Autism is a wide range of developmental disabilities, the treatment of this mental disease and training in our country is still at a low level, and mostly in hospitals and specialized institutions. We use the ecological systems theory to analyze the factors that affect the treatment of children with autism, and learned that family is an important factor. In addition to play an important role in the daily care, the family can also promote the children’s emotional communication with the world around, through proper training of children to increase the capacity. To play these features not only need the participation of entire family, the patience and the skill, but also need economic, community and social support. Our practice in a center that provides service for autism children’s parents lasted nearly six months, we found that in the course of the treatment, because of many factors the family did not play its proper function. Organizations and parents all ignore the function of family; to make the family play its important role in the process of treatment for children with autism, need all the family members, community and the social to work together. However, in the course of treatment, families should only be used in the auxiliary position, should not and can not substitute the professional treatment. And the training of children with autism in the family should also pay attention to issues such as time and frequency.
