Problems And Countermeasures Existing In The Application Of Standardized Patient In Clinical Skills Training

Standardized patients(SP) is a kind of simulation to show clinical students the standardized clinical performance and competence.An SP is a nonphysician, often an actor, who hasbeen trained to portray a specific patient in a consistent,standardized fashion. Currently, SPs are widely used in most medical schools.With the analysis of the literatures about the use of SP in Chinese Medical colleges and universities,the development of SP in Nanjing Medical University are taken for object of this study.The history and current situation of the use of SP of Nanjing Medical University are introduced,and the characteristics of this SP project are also analyzed.This paper discusses the existing problems and deep reasons by in-depth interview of the managers,teathers and SPs.According to the interview and the analysis of related literatures,the shortcoming of the SP project in China are mainly reflected in the four aspects:Ideas,Laws and regulations,Management and Fund.Against these,it put forward that society should change the ideological and conceptual about SP;SP management should run the SP project with scientific method;university should increase the investment of SP project;the government should accelerate the building of the legal system.In addition,this essay made the prospects for the development of SP project of Chinese medical colleges and universities.
