| Objective:Through the epidemiological investigation of550cases of patients in wuhan with osteoarthritis of the knee joint, the correlation analysis on the main pathogenic factors is made, and the epidemiologic characteristics of the knee osteoarthritis patients are analyzed as well, So as to guide clinical to treat the disease and prevention.Methods:Through the homemade questionnaire of knee osteoarthritis epidemiological, this survey covered a total of550cases from November2011to March2012in Hubei Province Zhongshan Hospital, patients for treatment and health education in the knee osteoarthritis patients, aged from38to80years old. The selected objects voluntarily participated in the survey, and the investigators have had unified training, adopting one-to-one way to carry on the questionnaire survey and physical examination to those patients. Auxiliary examinations including X-ray and bone density were all used with the same instrument and standard of zhongshan hospital, Hubei province. The collection of the clinical data of patients is tided up, and the statistics analysis of the relative data is made.Results:Whole data of the knee osteoarthritis patients were collected with a total of550patients,182cases of men and368women. Females are about2times that of males, with an average age of(64.7±9.4)years old,78.7%of the patients being overweight. Age was positively associated with the incidence of the disease, and the severity of the disease is related to the living conditions; patients who climb up stairs more frequently suffer more than those who climb up less stairs due to the elevators or lower-floored buildings. Professions, dietary factors, and daily transportation means have no significant correlation with the disease. Inappropriate physical exercise can increase the occurence of the disease and its progress. Main complaints from550patients are knee pain, mainly from mild to moderate. In nature, a cold pain, bursting pain is more common. Most patients will have pose stiff joints after a long period of being seated or standing is suddenly changed. The behaviors that increase the burden of knees, like climbing up or down the stairs, crouching down and standing up to the knee, are the main causes of pain, tenderness in patellar position and medial ligament around vice attached place. Many of this group of patients are with different degrees of osteoporosis. By X-ray, articular surface wearing and hardening are most seen, followed by narrowed joint gap. Part of the clinical manifestations of patients and X-ray manifestation do not accord.Conclusion:Osteoarthritis of the knee joint is related to gender, age, and body mass index. Among the survey of550cases of knee osteoarthritis patients in wuhan city, women and fat person are seen more, and the knee pain is the major clinical manifestation. The actions that increase the burden of knees, like fluctuation over floor, squatting down, and inappropriate exercise, will induce knee pain and aggravate illness progress. More fluctuation in stairs may make the disease worse. Economic conditions have concern with the occurrence of this disease and the disease progresses, the population relatively poor economic condition has high prevalence, and the condition is easy to delay and relatively heavy. Knee osteoarthritis have particular concern with osteoporosis. Patients’ low awareness of medical treatment and lack of professional instruction of health care knowledge are the main causes of the symptoms. |
