Objective: To compare the efficacy and safety in treatment of benign prostatichyperplasia (BPH) between bipolar transurethral plasmakinetic prostatectomy (TUPKP)and transurethral electrovaporization of the prostate (TUVP) by observing the relatedclinical indicators. Methods: Collected60cases of BPH patients of First AffiliatedHospital of Xinjiang Medical University between June2010and December2011, dividedthem into TUPKP group and TUVP group30cases in each according to the surgicalapproach. And compared preoperative patient age, medical history, prostate volume,International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS), quality of life score (QOL), preoperativeserum sodium levels and preoperative hemoglobin level between the two groups.compared the weight of removal prostate tissue, operative time, blood sodium decreasedthe level of drop in hemoglobin level, postoperative hospital stay, complication rate, international Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS), quality of life score (QOL) between thetwo groups and before and after surgery of IPSS, QOL index and its changed in eachgroup. Results: The difference of IPSS, QOL between transurethral plasmakineticresection group and transurethral group was statistically significant (P<0.05), thesymptoms could be significantly improved after the operation. There was no statisticalsignificance in the postoperative decline in hemoglobin levels, postoperative hospital stay, quality of life score (QOL), resection of prostate weight, operation time, low bloodsodium levels, complication rate, International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS) and otheraspects between the two groups. Conclusions:Compared Bipolar transurethralplasmakinetic prostatectomy to transurethral electrovaporization, in the recent curativeefficacy and safety showed no advantage.
