Objective: To investigate the association of estrogen receptor-α gene with peak bonemineral density at lumbar vertebra in the Uygurs and Hans in Urumqi women. Methods:The XbaI and PvuⅡ genotypes of ER-αwere determined by PCR-RFLP in135Uygursand160hans unrelated healty women aged20-40years in Urumqi.Bone mineral density(BMD) was measured by QCT bone densitometry. Serum Ca,Pand AKP level weremeasured by ELIASA. Results: Hardy-Weinberg Equilbrium was evident for ER-αgenepolymorphism in the Uygurs and Hans. There was significant difference in PvuⅡandXbaI polymorphisms between the Uygurs and the Hans.Only a significant association wasfound between PvuⅡ genotype and BMD at L2-4in the Uygurs(P<0.05),the bone massof Uygurs with Pp/pp genotype was lower than that of PP genotype at lumbar vertebr(aP<0.05). Conclusion: The XbaI polymorphism of ER-αgene seem not potentiallyinfluence on peak bone mass in the Uygurs and the Hans women. The attainment andmaintenance of peak bone mass at lumbar vertebra had associated with PvuⅡpolymorpis-m in the Uygurs. |
