A Clinical Study Of The Effect Of Topiramate Combined With Duodongning Capsule In The Treatment Of Tourette Syndrome

Objective:To observe the clinical effects of Duodongning capsule and Topiamate in the treatment of Tourette Syndrome.Method:Non-blinded randomized controlled trial were used.60cases of children with Tourette Syndrome screening met inclusion criteria were randomly divided into group A:Only treated with traditional Chinese medicine (Duodongning capsule),n=20,groupB:20patients Only treated with Topiamate,n=20,and group C:Treated with Chinese medicine and Western medicine(Duodongning capsule and Topiamate),n=20.Rating scale score and side effects were observed to compare the clinical efficacy.Results:In experimental group (group C),3cases were clinical controlled,14cases were effective,improved in2cases and1case invalid,and the total effective rate of treatment group is95%;In group B,0cases was clinical controlled,12cases was effective, improved in5cases and3case invalid,and the total effective rate of treatment group was85%;In group A,0cases was clinical controlled,10cases was effective,improved in6cases and4case invalid,and the total effective rate of treatment group was80%.Group C had better effects compaired with Group B and Group A.Side effects situation:Group B had3cases appeared anorexia,1case appeared giddy, after adding the traditional Chinese medicine,the symptoms had improved and no side effect found in group A and group C.Conclusion:Chinese traditional medicine Duodongning capsule combined with Topiramate in the treatment of childhood Tourette Syndrome could be a better choice.
