This work is focused on health care service in China and aimed to analyze challengesattributed to involvement of health care providers into multi-cultural and multi-linguisticsettings.Survey in a form of questionnaire was conducted to identify what factors influenceeffectiveness of international doctor-patient communication in China. Results suggest thatdoctor-patient relationship model, cultural competence and working environment arestrongly related to the quality of such communication. Moreover, doctor-patient relationshipmodel itself evidently is affected by High-power distance cultural dimension of Chinesesociety.The concept of mobile assistant for international doctor-patient communication in Chinawas proposed and tested throughout the experiment. Experiment showed proposed mobileassistant application can handle such tasks as increasing patient’s satisfaction withappointment, increasing information flow, diminishing language barriers and patientsuncertainty. |
