ObjectiveTo understand the epidemiological characteristics of measles in the SuzhouIndustrial Park, to develop control strategies for the region to provide a basis.Eventually targets are the incidence of measles less than1/1million in2012, and toeliminate the indigenous measles virus transmission of measles.MethodsMeasles incidence data came from “the disease surveillance informationmanagement system”, Suzhou Industrial Park Center for Disease Control, the measlessuspected cases epidemiological case questionnaire of the National measles surveillanceprogram had been used in each reporting suspected cases, such as measles suspectedcases of the general situation (name, sex, date of birth, current address, occupation, dateof onset, diagnosis, date, etc.), suspected measles cases epidemiological surveyinformation (reporting date, survey date, domicile, current address of residence, clinicalsymptoms measles-containing composition inoculation doses of vaccine7-21daysbefore the onset of whether they have been to the hospital7-21days before the onset ofcontact with other rash and fever patients, etc.). Collected the blood after the onset ofsymptoms1-3days, separated the serum, measles IgM antibody capture in serum hadbeen tested with enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Measles diagnostic kitwas from the IBL biological products company, German. Suzhou Center for DiseaseControl laboratory tested in strict accordance with the method of the manual, steps andvalidity. We used the EpiData3.0software to establish a data entry database, the methodof double pairs of recorded data entry has been used, and after logic verification of thedata we locked it. The descriptive statistical analysis were used in rate or ratio,chi-square test were used in the rate or constitute the ratio between the groupscomparing, circular distribution method analysis were used in the onset timedistribution, all the statistical analysis of the application is in SPSS13. All statistical tests statistically significant difference was P <0.05.ResultsThe reported incidence of measles from2005to2007were respectively25.68/100000,29.42/100000,20.94/100000, three-year average reported incidence was25.10/100000in Suzhou Industrial Park, in2008, measles incidence was37.23/100000, higher than the previous three-year average reported incidence of (2=29.515,P <0.001).The number of reported incidence of floating population was significantly morethan non-mobile population, the ratio is2.87:1; the number of reported incidence in thegender both migrants and non-mobile population are men more than women, and thesex constitute difference between floating population and the non-mobile populationwas not statistically significant (2=0.046, P>0.1). Either in Floating population orin non-current population, the differences in different ages of the reported incidence ofmeasles number ratio distribution were statistically significant (2=21.645, P <0.001);Which, either in the floating population, or non-mobile population, typical measlescases have occurred in children under8months, the incidence of over15year-oldaccounted for79.4%of the floating population; but in floating population, the incidenceof under8months of age accounted for18.0%, over the age of20accounted for67.2%.The main clinical manifestations of measles patients is typical. The incidence of measles had the seasonal distribution characteristics, theincidence peak day is April25, the onset of the peak is March16to June5,95%incidence of interval is from February7to July10.Conclusion and recommendation1. The incidence of measles report of the Suzhou Industrial Park in2008is higherthan the average level of reported incidence in the first three years, and also muchhigher than the national measles reported incidence, Suzhou Industrial Park is themeasles epidemic. And the incidence of measles is in the seasonal distribution ofcharacteristics and typical clinical manifestations.2. The main reason for the incidence of measles in school-age children is themeasles immunization blank in school-age children, while the flow of children to acceptmeasles vaccine is the focus to reduce the incidence of school-age children. In the same time of finishing the routine immunization of measles vaccine, monitoring thecumulative status of susceptible populations, carrying out the SIA before the number ofthe susceptible school-age children to achieve a number of birth cohort, are all moreeconomical, efficient, and effective way to increase measles vaccination coverage; it’simportant to carry out the work of the migrant children under2year-old of measlesvaccine leak replant on a regular basis, to assist in the education sector to strengthen thenursery school entry vaccination certificate inspection, to play timely measles vaccinereplant and timely completion of two measles vaccination; and strengthening thetraining of vaccinators, standardized operation, reasonable arranging for the vaccinationtime to avoid the measles vaccine with other live vaccine inoculation, are can improvethe success rate of measles vaccination.3. The adults have been the main source of the incidence of measles in SuzhouIndustrial Park. And clinical manifestations of measles are particular in adults, thetypical lack of measles antibody protection force or immune blank in adults. Therefore,we should focus on the large turnover, gathered and arrowed migrant workers or othergroups who can easily result in a measles outbreak in, measures measles vaccinationwhen they are taken in the entry of works to establish an effective immune barrier.4. We can be taken for women of childbearing age in the six months prior topregnancy vaccination with measles vaccine or measles-containing composition of thecombined vaccine to prevent the incidence of infants under8months of age, with themeasles antibodies increased in infants who were born from immunized women, theincidence of measles infection under8months of age will be reduced.5. We should strengthen measles surveillance and outbreak processing. Regularlycarry out active search for measles surveillance case of the various medical institutionsin the area; carry out the monitoring of the level of measles immunization in healthypeople, especially the monitoring of the positive rates and the geometric mean inmeasles protective antibodies immunization in school-age children, women ofchildbearing age or the close contacts people with measles contact with to master, carryout the level of measles immunization in different birth cohort; and we should carry outin a timely manner to epidemiological investigations when outbreaks happened, carryout the emergency immunization of susceptible populations of measles vaccine, timelydisinfection the source and the surrounding environment.6. The accuracy of the laboratory diagnosis of measles is closely related to blood collection time. in order to reduce the misdiagnosis of measles patients, when we usethe ELISA method to test measles IgM antibodies, we need get the blood sample afterthe rash in4to28days to make the results more sensitive.
