Objective To analyze the therapeutic and operation factorsrelated to chronic hydrocephalus after aneurysmal subarachnoidhemorrhage(aSAH).Methods86patients with aneurysmal SAH treated in ourdepartment between January2011and January2013wereretrospectively studied.According to having chronichydrocephalus or not, they were divided into hydrocephalusgroup and non-hydrocephalus group. The clinical factors, therapeutic and operation factors that associated with thedevelopment of chronic hydrocephalus were statisticallyanalyzed. Results The incidence of chronic hydrocephalus was36%in86patients with aSAH. The analysis of two groups showed thatthe factors included the duration of external CSF drainage, continuous lumbar drainage, the amounts of SAH after theoperation had statistical significance(P<0.05),while age, sex, H-H group, aneurysmal location, the timing ofsurgery, decompressive craniectomy had no statisticalsignificance(P>0.05) Conclusions The duration of external csf continuousdrainage was the risk factor and predictive factor of chronichydrocephalus after aSAH. Early continuous lumbar drainageafter the operation, clearance of SAH during the operationcould reduce the occurrence of chronic hydrocephalus. Moreattention should be paid to the patients with the risk factors, in order to obtain good prognosis.
