Objective:To discuss the expression of Liuweidihuang Decoction(LD) on unilateral ureter obstructions(UUO) renal interstitial fibrosis(RIF) rat and Fas, FasL of the renal tubular epithelial cells(RTEC),Methods:SD rats were randomly divided into sham operation group, model group, enalapril group, LD group. Adaptive feeding rats a week, copying the UUO RIF in rat model, model group, enalapril group and LD group were ligated the left ureter under sterile conditions. But Sham-operated group only to separate the left ureter,not to be ligated.Then close the abdominal; LD group were given a daily gavage LD, enalapril group to give a daily dose of oral enalapril, model group and sham-operated group were given 0.9% saline.In each group 6 rats were randomly selected to be sacrificed.the kidneys were observed on both sides of the shape, measuring the size of the kidneys on both sides, observing morphological changes in the left kidney with HE and Masson staining, detecting the expression of Fas and FasL in the renal tissue with immunohistochemical methods.Results:In sham-operated group the expression of Fas and FasL had no significant changes; In Model group its expression increased on 7 days and 14 days,but to increase lower on 21 days,compared with the sham-operated group,There was statistical difference between these groups (p<0.05) at different time points; Compared with model group, after seven days, the degree of RIF mitigate among the treatment group (LD group and Enalapril group), expression of the Fas and FasL lower, more evident after 14 days and 21 days, inter-group difference was significant statistical significance(p<0.05); Between the LD group and Enalapril group, inter-group difference was not statistically significant (p> 0.05).Conclusion:LD can reduce the degree of RIF on the rat UUO, Its effects may be by reducing the expression of Fas, FasL.
