| The aerial parts of Lonicera japonica Thunb.,are used as antibacterial, anti-inflammatory agents, as well as folk medicines to treat encephalitis, influenza, fever, pneumonia, dysentery, enteritis and so on. In this paper, the chemical constituents from the leaves of L. japonica was investigated. From the ethanol extract of the leaves of L. japonica,20 compounds were isolated by means of chromatographic methods (repeated column chromatography on silica gel, macroporous adsorptive resins column chromatography, preparative thin layer chromatography, Sephadex LH-20) and recrystallization. On the basis of physico-chemical constants and spectroscopic analysis (NMR, MS),18 compounds of them were identified as follows:5,7,4’-trihydroxy-8-methoxyflavone(1),luteolin(2), tricin(3), kaempferol-7-O-β-D-glucopyranoside(4), luteolin-7-O-β-D-glucopyranoside(5), ochnaflavone (6), ochnaflavone-7-O-β-D-glucopyranoside(7), apigenin-7-O-β-D-glucopyranoside(8),diosmetin-7-O-β-D-glucopyranoside(9), lonicerin (10), 3,4-di-O-caffeoyl quinic acid methyl ester (11),5-O-caffeoyl quinic acid methyl ester (12), sweroside (13), secoxyloganin (14), secologanin dimethylacetal (15), inositol (16),β-sitosterol (17, daucosterol(18).Among them, compound 7 was a new compound, compounds 1ã€4ã€.12 were obtained from this genus for the first time. |
