A Research About Guangzhou Cantonese Phonetics

Today, there are a lot of different areas in Guangzhou, and their Cantonese sound aredifferent. In the past time, the experts paid more attention on the category and the tone, and tookthe same thing about the Cantonese more seriously, and didn’t pay more attention on thedifference. Actually, they had left a lot of valuable datas about the Cantonese sound, letting theexperts do further research, but because of the limitation about the datas, the experts couldn’thave the systemic view and couldn’t find the whole rule about the Cantonese’s development. So,in this paper, we decide to go to Xiguan、Siyou、Yuancun、Luochongwei、Xiaozhoucun、Dongpuand Wenchong to do some researches. After researching, we analyze the place’s sound and findout the features of Cantonese sound. At last, in the basic of the systemic sound, related to thehistorial materials, we try to summarize the regular pattern about the sound and find out thedeveloped road about the Cantonese sound in this paper.
