Malaysia is a multiracial country with distinctive culture and language. ItsCode-mixing which is resulted from its history, policy and background among variousethnic groups is one of the most interesting topics to study. Code-mixing in definitionmeans mixing two or more code (language) in speech due to specific reasons. It is anindividual behavior and it is usually appeared to replace vocabularies in a sentence.Sometimes it is called “Code-switching”.It is believed that Code-mixing is unhealthy to the development of teachingChinese as a second language in Malaysia. Therefore it is essential to manage aresearch to examine this phenomenon. As relevant studies in the past are very limited,this paper provides an investigation on such phenomenon from the view of education.In conducting this dissertation, the Malaysian Chinese students in Beijing are studiedby the approach of social linguistics and a Corpus is then formed to conduct a furtheranalysis for instance statistical comparison and behavior investigation. As a result, thefindings could be utilized to carry out an in-depth educational research in the future.
