Culture teaching is one of the cores in overseas Chinese language and cultureeducation; it has difference between teaching Chinese as a foreign language andoverseas Chinese language and culture education. Keynote is to transmit Chineseculture for overseas Chinese in overseas Chinese language and culture education,knowledge culture has a special position in it. However, teaching point is to transmitscommunicative culture in teaching Chinese as a foreign language. In order to studythe knowledge culture, the paper analysis distribution and design in Chinese andAmerican Chinese.As cultural knowledge is quite important in cultural teaching, thus it isconsidered as the key factor by writer in teaching materials. The writer counts thequantity of knowledge culture, and analysis their content and intention and how todeal with their common knowledge culture for two different texts.Based on the study results, the author summary the characters of knowledgeculture for the two texts, At the same time, coming up with author’s suggestion aboutdesigning knowledge culture of Chinese cultural materials which is used for overseas.
