Lie detecting technology is namely to detect the lies, which has already become atechnical vanguard in public security and judicatory fields. And how to raise the accuracyon results of lie detection is a hot issue in current research. When referring many related research materials on lie detection by foreign scholars,we find that no matter we adopt any kind of test technique in the process of lie detection, the accuracies of the results are influenced by different personalities with differentcharacteristics of testees. If so, is there relationship between the testees’ physiologicalresponse and their personality characteristics? And what are the personality characteristics? This research adopts the simulating crime test in the cognition test of traditionallie-detecting techniques, to investigate the accuracy of results and find out the testeesfailing to report or with false report. Then we synthesize the16PF of these testees offailing and false report and analyze the personality factors which are likely to impact theaccuracy of results. Finally the research carries on a study on these personalitycharacteristics and puts forward theoretical instruction to improve the accuracy of resultsof lie detection. The experiment is divided into two parts: in the first part, simulate a theft criminalscene; the independent variables are sex, impersonation roles and property of answers;dependent variable is skin electricity reaction. To check the accuracy of lie detectionresults of testees in guilty knowledge test and find out the missing and false testees. Insecond part, synthesize the date in16PF of all testees; compare the differences of missing, false testees and other testees in personality; and analyze the factors leading to lost andfalse report and discuss them.We obtain the following conclusions:(1)The experiment shows that the pretended criminals’ kin electricity reaction has ahigher index than those “innocent citizens”. This indicates that the guilty knowledge testcan effectively distinguish the roles, namely the criminals and innocent citizens.(2) The experiment indicates that the index of all testees’ kin electricity reaction inkey items is significantly higher than one in controlled items. This shows that the guiltyknowledge test can effectively distinguish the essence of answers, namely the informationin key items and controlled items.(3)In the criminal actors, in constancy and self-discipline personalities, the testeeswith correct judgment have a higher scores that those with wrong judgment; while instability personality, the latter has a higher score than the former. In the innocent citizens, in stability personality the testees with correct judgment have a higher score than thosewith wrong judgment; while the latter scores better than the former in dependencepersonality. The results show that some personality characteristics of testees impact theaccuracy of detection results.
