The Design Of The Basic Teaching Materials Of The Culture Of The Paper-cutting In Chinese As A Foreign Language

The Teaching of Chinese as a Foreign Language includes language teaching and culture teaching. The questions are how to combine language teaching and culture teaching into together, how to let learners achieve the goal of "learning one thing and then knowing it,"learning to use it", and "learning and to create new" and how to show the specific, the real target culture in an effective way. The new requirements are put forward for the design of teaching materials and teaching skills of teachers. Here, an idea naturally strikes me. It is about the design of the basic materials of paper-cutting.The paper-cutting belongs to a branch of folk culture; language is a living fossil of the culture. Therefore, this textbook will be the combination of Chinese language and paper-cutting culture, and introduce some of paper-cutting culture such as Wedding, Birthday Celebration, Old season, and etc. And also it will introduce certain amount of foreign paper-cutting in order that the transmission of the paper-cutting culture is based on equality and mutual respect. Through the learning of a paper-cutting lesson, learners not only can learn the art of paper-cutting, but also master the essence of the certain language points through the process of paper-cutting. They can understand the broader Chinese culture from the paper-cutting thematic culture, and further achieve the cultural communication between the two sides.Throughout the various types of teaching materials on Chinese as a foreign language, there are few about the sections of the paper-cutting. The TCFL monographs on paper-cutting materials are of course hardly found. Therefore, the author would like to try to write a paper-cutting basic materials for learners of Chinese and foreigners interested in the paper-cutting.
