This paper mainly discusses Shakespeare, one of the greatest writers in the England’sgreat Renaissance age, whose classic play Hamlet as the object; and meanwhile with ‘theconcept of fate’ as a clue, combines with the text to explore Shakespeare’s Fate throughstudying and combing Hamlet’s destiny; then focuses on the fate how to influence thechange of Hamlet’s personalities, specially the narrative how to highlight the theme of fatethrough analyzing Hamlet’s disposition and fate how to play an important role in thestructure and narrative; finally aims at the substance of Shakespeare’s fate and the historytransfer’s meaning.In Shakespeare’s plays, though fate was not used as a key word, but most of whichimplied the fate. As a literary phenomenon, it does not exist in unique but both influencedby the Greek tragedy and Renaissance humanism. So, when survey the fate of Shakespeare,we should base the fate of Greek tragedy, in the light of the whole literary history andcultural context, Shakespeare’s fate can be analyzed generally to avoid interpreting out ofcontext.The whole dissertation consists of four chapters except the foreword and conclusion.Chapter one compares with the western notion of fate, we can tell the difference andmixture on concept of fate thus present Shakespeare’s fate. Chapter two is supposed todiscuss fate how to change character. Chapter three mainly focuses on fate is playing animportant part in the structure and narrative and particularly the narrative how to highlightthe theme of fate. Chapter four is devoted to the study the substance of Shakespeare’s fate.During the Renaissance age, Shakespeare was deeply influenced by the Christian ideas. On one hand, he carried on notion of fate since ancient Greek; on the other hand, on the basisof this fate, Shakespeare conquered fate’s control——who held his fate by his own self.“Fate”, in Shakespeare’s plays, is considered as an indispensable part, from which we cansee Shakespeare does well in human research and exploration.
