Research On The Dilemma Structure Of The Wong Kar-wai Film

Wong Kar-wai is one of the strongest personality Chinese director,his unique moviestyle,unscripted film style has always been talking by the audience and the critics.But the reasonwhy he is so loved by the audience,is because he told us one and another tales that were sounforgettable in the movie,and with the time fly on,when people watch the movie again andagain,they can get so many different feelings.The reason for this is Wong Kar-wai make thedilemmas for the audience one by one,no matter the emotional or moral,the life or the heart,thesedilemmas go with us the whole life.Because both sides of the dilemma question have somereasonable things,dilemma is dilemma.That is why his movie is so moving,because he use theimages told us a fact that may make some people feel uncomfortable,which is the reality behindthe phenomenon will never be understood by the people,and the dilemma may be the best way toknow the world.As a way of thinking,dilemma structure push the people to search the unknown field,thoughit looks like it’s a limit for the field we can understand,actually it opens a gate to the possibilityof our knowledge range.It pushes people to think what we can know as human-beings,wherewere we came from,and where are we going.The purpose of this thesis is to research the dilemma structure itself and combine it with thefamous Chinese director Wong Kar-wai’s movie,and take a deep look at his dilemma theme andthe structure style.In this paper we used literature study ,case style and system research andcombine theory with practice,and the method of comprehensive use ofcommunication,pedagogy,sociology,psychology,aesthetic theory knowledge.Thesis mainly fromthe following aspects:First,at first make an argument in the pure philosophy way on why the dilemma is the wayof knowing the world for people.and take the dilemma as a transcendental concept to researchand then point the presentment of the dilemma.Then research the possibility that how thedilemma structure as an art creation thinking can express the dilemma,and what should we thinkabout when we use it. Secondly,combine the dilemma structure thinking with the movie,and make an argument onthe ultimately seek of the movie art is the root that why it can combine with the dilemma.Andthen research why movie is proper to express the dilemma,and then point that the philosophypursuit of movie is to ask the dilemma.Third,take a deep research on the dilemma theme of the Wong Kar-wai;s movie,and find thedilemma that Wong Kar-wai usually express from his four movie.And then find how hedeveloped his dilemma theme from four aspects which are the significance of life,establishoneself,love and hate,moral dilemma.Fourth,take a deep research of Wong Kar-wai’s movie,and analyze his unique movielanguage and movie style.Using his short movie "I travelled 9,000 km to give it to you" as anmain example and other similar ways of his movie to analyze how he use his unique way toexpress his dilemma theme.This paper develop from these four parts below,and using the research resultsbefore,research the connotation and important significance deeply,then combine the specificexample and hope to get some ways and enlightenments of how to use the dilemma structurewhen making a movie,so it can give some experiences for the movie industry of our country.
