"Twenty-four Preludes for Piano", which was composed by the great composer in the former Soviet Union in the twentieth century, Shostakovich, is the research object for this paper. The main research methods are literature method and review method, which help to do a research on the object.This paper is divided into the following four parts:Introduction—The preliminary notes for the origin and purpose of the research. Comb the present situation in this research field at home and abroad and point out the theoretical basis of this paper.Chapter Ⅰ—The chapter is divided into two sections. The first section is to give a thorough understanding of Shostakovich’s life, music creation period and style as well as features of piano music. The second section put importance on the origin of the prelude so as to summarize from the historical point of the view and to pave the way for the research.Chapter Ⅱ—Analysis the structure and technical difficulties in each of the first Prelude. There are two purposes. One is to give a deep exploration of the works, and the other is to lay a solid theoretical basis for the teaching research.Chapter Ⅲ—The writer discusses Shostakovich’s" Twenty-four Preludes for Piano"(Op.34) from the aspect of teaching, hoping more and more teachers and students understand Shostakovich and choose this master piece.Conclusion—The part will give a summary to this paper. In another words, this part is to summarize the research overview of the paper.The innovation of this paper is to summarize teaching and discuss how to perform the work through the analysis of Shostakovich’s "Twenty-four Preludes for Piano"(Op.34) Documents as well as traditional methods are mainly used in this paper and the research results will be applied to practical piano performance and teaching process.
