The Research On Narrative Comparison Of Revenge Of Lu Xun And Mo Yan

"Revenge" is a common theme in ancient and modern literature. But with the development of society, the social significance carried by revenge will also change. In Lu Xun’s and Mo Yan’s works, the "revenge" narrative is with more life experience and social criticism color. This dissertation, using the narration and rhetoric theory, from two aspects the inner spirit and external form compares with Lu xun’s and Mo Yan’s revenge narrative, trying to find the spiritual point and narrative strategies hidden deep in their the narrative of revenge, which is better for our interpretation to the literature related to "revenge" of Lu Xun and Mo Yan.. At the same time,it is of great significance to learn about the writers’fusion and development of Lu Xun’s spirit in new period and grasp the common culture proposition of the era behind the complex phenomenon.The paper is divided into two parts, so as to address the following issues:The first part, mainly from the works, analyzes the"revenge" narrative type of the creation of Lu Xun and Mo Yan. Described in Lu Xun’s works,there are two types of revenge, including the the revenge of victims and the revenge of soldiers. The avengers changed from refusing to perform, despair suicide revenge to the revenge of coming forward and sacrifice for the love. His tone is sharp and cold, full of deep philosophical thinking. His focus on narrative lies in the change of the way of revenge, from which we can pry out the profound changes of Lu Xun’s ideological course, and thus calls for the powerful life which is lack in modern people and the bear spirit embodied in Lu xun’s revenge, causing a serious consideration of our social system and life.The second part, mainly combining the method of narrative and rhetoric and referring the theory of new criticism, discusses the similarities and differences of revenge narrative, tension narrative and the choice of color and image of Mo Yan and Lu Xun. Their tension narrative includes two types, the emotional and narrative tension, and the solemn and humorous tension. In the choice of color of image, Lu Xun just reconciles red and black, while Mo Yan’s image colour is multicolored,and have a strong subjective experience, and from another point of view, it is a surreal images of the heart feelingBy contrast, we found that Mo Yan’s revenge narrative, to some extent, inherits Lu Xun’s spirit of social criticism and he calls for a strong life which is lack in modern people through his revenge narrative. That is a distant echo to Lu Xun’s social responsibility showed by revenge. In narrative skills and strategies they have their own characteristics.But in contrast, Lu Xun is rational while Mo Yan is emotional. Especially in speech, Mo Yan is lack of certain restraint and sense of proportion, which is a slight deficiency.
