Zhao Yulong, known as an outstanding contemporary painter in the field offreehand brushwork in China, is very good at Watercolor paintings. His watercolorpaintings seek a fusion between the tradition and the modern in the East and the West.Mr. Zhao Yulong has a breakthrough in blending western and eastern culture, producingEurope’s watercolor painting art with distinctive features of the East. Although Mr.Zhao Yunlong’s watercolor language formes early realism, now freehand brushworkhighlights in his works. He can give full display on the characteristics of watercoloritself in the process of painting, such as lively rhythm, color pure, transparent, solid andaccurate modeling and so on; he emphasizes the scene feeling and the movement ofbrush in the process of teaching; and at the same time Mr. Zhao Yunlong pays moreattention to the spirit realm, philosophy and culture of watercolor art; he often goes toall parts of our country and Europe and the United States to investigate and sketch. Hissuccess of watercolor art tells people that it requires a certain life depth and a largeamount of cultural knowledge as well as high artistic accomplishment and aestheticrealm to form his own unique watercolor language. And it is not a simple mechanicalmodel and imitate. In addition, the success of watercolor art exploration also requiresthe national characteristics, the spirit of the times as a guide. Also, it is important to payattention to international art development environment.This topic fully analyzes Zhao Yunlong’s watercolor paintings language stylecharacteristics. Besides, it also studies Zhao Yunlong watercolor language artisticcharacteristics and the reason for constantly evolution from the unique and newperspective. Therefore, this research topic has not only important significance forexperiencing Zhao Yunlong watercolor language style characteristic and the artisticcharm, but it also provides meaningful reference for many people to explore watercolorlanguage. What’s more, the topic is of great significance to the reposition of ZhaoYunlong’s important contribution to Chinese watercolor painting development.
