It begins with decorative objects, murals, etc. After thousands of years of development, this art is closely connected with our life.Architecture decoration design, being one type of the arts, to some great extent, embodies the peculiar art style and reflects one kind of architectural culture and the unique urban appearance in a country or region. As the manifestation of human material civilization and spiritual civilization, it represents a kind of cultural types and reflects the time spirit and cultural connotation in different historical periodsThis article is based on the research of Modern Hotel in Harbin Central Avenue. It is luxurious, elegant, and enjoys a legend history and the Renaissance architectural style of Louis XIV era. The paper compares the main decorative elements in the architectural decoration by using the methods of survey and the contrast research between Chinese and western countries. Since1906, when Joseph. Open si diop, a Jew built the first foreign-related hotel (formerly known as Chinese Street) in Harbin, he closely links Modern Hotel with the rise and fall of the city and makes a detailed art classification of it which is decorated in the luxurious Art Nouveau.The architectural decoration style of the Art Nouveau largely determines the architectural styles and features of Harbin. As a booming city, Harbin endows with a century of fusion and accumulation of its own regional cultural characters, in a sense, the formation of the decoration style is closely linked with its unique geographical culture. The style of European architecture decoration can be seen everywhere in Harbin, esp. the Art Nouveau of the Modern Hotel, adding some exotic colors to the city. The paper makes some simple analysis and classification about the influence of Art Nouveau to Harbin architectural culture. The author’s own thought is shown about the protection of foreign culture inheritance and innovation. We can say its Art Nouveau style is not a simple form of addition, but is the whole culture transplantation and an inheritance of European architectural decoration. From its unique style of decorative mould, adornment component and decorative colors, it deduces the unique charm of its own regional architectural culture of Harbin. |
